With a focus on putting the customer first, Emirates Airline would like to provide an update about Extension of COVID-19 Waiver Policies to allow passengers some peace of mind while booking their next travel with Emirates.
As a relief to the customers impacted by COVID-19, Emirates would like to upgrade tickets issued until August 30, 2020, and have a travel voucher validated until 30 November 2020. The airline industry has complicated waiver policies for how fares, re-bookings or refunds are applied, which also differ depending on market regulation.
TravelGuzs understands that it’s really difficult and frustrating for consumers to unravel from all this. The COVID-19 pandemic is unprecedented for everyone, and we would like to thank our customers for their patience, understanding and cooperation.
Emirates has been working through this time to ensure that their waiver policies are customer-friendly and also in line with regulatory requirements
Emirates sincerely hopes that their customers will choose to rebook and fly with Emirates at a later point of time, which is why they have offered validity on purchased travel tickets for up to two years and travel vouchers that can be redeemed for any Emirates product or service.
Any fees for making a ticket modification will be waived for tickets issued for travel up to November 30, 2020, for any bookings done till August 30, 2020. If customers want to apply for a refund, we will be helping you do it, though it may take some time as the airlines have a large backlog to handle.
A. Changes Free Flight
Changes and modifications are allowed with the waiver of the Reissue Fee & Fare difference in any RBD within the same cabin, to an alternate flight or to/from DXB or within the same area where EK flights operate. When a passenger decides to rebook/reissue to another region no Reissue Fee would be charged but the Price Differences (if any) would be collected.
B. Keep Your Tickets
Travel tickets booked by Emirates before August 30, 2020, for travel until November 30, 2020, will be automatically extended for 24 months. Customers keeping these tickets can be reassured their tickets will be honored, and when customers will become ready to fly again they will be able rebook easily.
Whenever passengers will be ready to travel again, within 24 months from the day they have purchased tickets, they just need to contact a travel agent or Emirates to rebook the flight tickets.
The passenger’s tickets will be approved on any flight to the same destination/region within the same Emirates zone, with no additional charges during this period. Anyone who wants to rebook their ticket to fly to another area can do so as well – Emirates does not charge reissuance fees, only any reasonable difference in price.
Emirates Destination/Region includes,
- The Gulf, Middle East and Iran
- Indian Ocean Islands
- The Far East
- North America
- South America
- West Asia
- Travel Voucher
Travel vouchers will be valid for one year from the date of issuance of the voucher and can be extended for a second year. The voucher can be used for any Emirates product or service, which ensures that customers can use it to cover any cabin class or other facilities charges on flights to either destination. No change fees apply to this voucher, thus customers can reschedule more flexibly when they’re ready to fly again.
If they are unable to travel, customers who have opted to keep their ticket or opted for a travel voucher may still apply for a refund. There will be no penalties for refunds
