Istanbul Airport was awarded the “best airport in Europe” and “Accessible Airport” at the 17th ACI Europe awards. The Airport was awarded the best airport award in the category of over 40 million passengers. The Istanbul Grand Airport was recognized for its measures during the pandemic.
The ACI’s “Accessible Airport” was awarded to Istanbul Airport as it met all the accessibility standards for the steps such as Priority Entrance, Accessible Elevator, Vehicle Parking Points, Accessible Route, Very Special Guest Card, and Sunflower Lanyard. The Best Airport award is given out in five categories ranging from under five million passengers to over 40 million passengers.
Despite being just 3 years old the Istanbul Grand Airport is already featured among the most established airports. It also grabbed the second-best airport award last month in the Conde Nast Traveler Award.
The award was presented to the CEO Kadri Samsunlo of Istanbul Airport at the ceremony held in Geneva, Switzerland. The Judges describe the facilities as,” A state-of-the-art airport supporting efficient operations and offering top quality service to the passengers and airport stakeholders.”
