Following an improvement in the Covid-19 Situation, the Union Ministry of health and family welfare changed its recommendations for overseas arrivals on Thursday, February 10.
The updated guidelines, which take effect on February 14, do away with the distinction between “at-risk” and “other” countries.
In addition, the health ministry recommends 14 days of self-monitoring following arrival, rather than the previously obligatory seven-day home quarantine.
Passengers flying to India are required to provide complete and accurate information in the self-declaration form on the Air Suvidha Portal prior to their booked flight, including travel details from the previous 14 days.
Passengers must upload a negative RT-PCR test report or a certificate of completion of the full primary vaccinations schedule 72 hours prior to departure.
Before boarding the flight airlines and agencies involved should provide travelers a set of rules along with their tickets.
According to the Guidelines, airlines are only permitted to board passengers who have completed all sections of the aforementioned self-declaration form and have presented their RT-PCR test report or vaccination certificate. Travelers are requested to download the Arogya Setu app on their mobile devices.
Children aged 5 and below are exempted from pre and post-arrivals testing. The Guidelines are also applicable to Travelers arriving through Sea Port and Land Port in India.
