In accordance with the guidance issued by Turkey Civil Aviation authorities, flight restrictions will be applied on the arrivals at Turkey. Passengers must comply with the conditions set out for a safe and healthy flight. As part of Turkey’s fight against Covid-19, All international passengers arriving/traveling to/from Turkey will be required to present negative PCR test results obtained during the last 72 hours prior to boarding.
Turkish Airline Makes Negative PCR Test Mandatory
To curb the chain of the globally spreading coronavirus, Turkey’s government is planning to tighten some international entry restrictions as part of the national strategy. Effective Dec. 28, all persons traveling from abroad to Turkey by air must produce proof that they have tested negative for COVID-19 using a PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before entry. All passengers entering Turkey via land or maritime border crossings will be subject to the aforementioned effective December 30. The new restrictions will remain in force at least March 1st, 2021.

Turkish residents are subject to a four-day curfew from 9 p.m. on Dec. 31st, 2020 to 5 a.m. on Jan. 4th, 2021. This is in addition to the weekend curfew that starts at 9 p.m. on Friday and lasts until 5 a.m. on Monday. However, this curfew does not extend to visitors, and there are exceptions for certain individuals. In addition, restaurants and cafés in Turkey are not currently available for dining and non-essential businesses such as amusement parks, movie theaters, Turkish baths will be closed during the curfew.

Flying To/From Turkey
- In accordance with the guidance given by authorities, Turkey’s flag carrier Turkish Airline must comply with certain flight restrictions for arrivals in Turkey. The passengers are required to comply with the conditions below to control the global coronavirus pandemic as it continues to threaten the world
- All the Passengers except children below the age of 6 years arriving in Turkey are expected to take a negative PCR test within 72 hours of their scheduled departure time after 00:00 on December 30, 2020, in the country of departure, and the test result should be submitted during check-in
- Passengers would not be allowed to enter the country without presenting a negative PCR test certificate. This application shall be effective until March 1st, 2021
- All passengers must need to wear masks at the airport and during the journey
- The passengers must fill out the passenger information form before traveling to Turkey
- All passengers and airline crew will undergo a medical examination and those showing symptoms will be carried out tests.
Flying From the United Kingdom
Yet as a result of new variant growing rapidly around the UK, Denmark, the Netherlands and South Africa has temporarily banned Turkish flights from these countries. The flights between Turkey and the Netherlands will resume on Wednesday (Dec 30th) while the ban is still in place on flights from the rest.
- The Turkish residents who have Turkish residence cards and holders of blue cards are allowed to board the flights departing from these countries to arrive in Turkey. The passengers above the age of 6 years arriving in Turkey are expected to present a negative PCR test conducted within 72 hours of their scheduled departure time after 00:00 on 30 December 30th, 2020 in the country of departure. - All the passengers arriving from the UK, Denmark or South Africa, should announce their residence address and remain in isolation for 7 days. At the end of 7 days, passengers are expected to undergo a second PCR test and, if the test result is negative, the insulation duration will end. If the test result is positive, the case will be closely monitored by the filiation teams
