India announces all International Commercial Flights will resume to and from the country from March 27. The decision was made following consultation with stakeholders and in light of enhanced vaccine coverage against Covid-19 throughout the world, according to a statement from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The present suspension of international flight operations will remain in force until March 26 at 11:59 p.m., according to the statement.
Soon after the Covid-19 pandemic, the services were initially terminated on March 23, 2020. The DGCA had previously declared that it would start operations on December 15 of last year, but the decision was reversed a day later when Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested a reconsideration of the decision because of the Omicron variant.
