United has partnered with Abbott to offer International passengers a self-administered COVID-19 test kit that passengers can bring on almost any international trip. Abbott Laboratories is an American multinational medical devices and health care company based in Illinois. United Airlines passengers can order its BinaxNow test and carry it with them to any International Destination. Take the test within three days of your return flight to the U.S. and enjoy your trip knowing you won’t have to search for a COVID-19 test in another country.

Before passengers return home, they “conduct the test with the digital health proctor, get their health pass and either upload it to United’s Travel Ready site so they can re-enter the country or show it at the airport when they check-in,” an Abbott spokeswoman said. Travelers can purchase BinaxNOW Home Test, which comes in a six-pack of tests for 150$ plus tax and shipping, from the eMed health platform. The partnership comes less than a week after the CDC unveiled new guidelines that allow travelers to self-administer a rapid antigen test under the supervision of telehealth service.
“We appreciate the private sector proactively helping travelers have access to easy, reliable Covid-19 test options,” CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said in a press release sent out by Abbott and United. “Comprehensive testing that is easy, rapid, accurate and trusted is a fundamental strategy for preventing the spread of Covid-19.”
