Passengers Must Have a Negative COVID-19 PCR Certificate Before They Fly With Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways requires a negative Covid-19 test from seven more destinations

With the spike of coronavirus cases, Qatar Airways has announced that they would need a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test certificate from seven additional countries effective from August 13, 2020.

Moreover, If passengers are unable to provide the negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate and consent form at check-in, they will not be allowed to board the flight. Such conditions apply both to current bookings and to new ones. Test results must be obtained from laboratories authorized by Qatar Airways within 72 hours of departure and paid for at the expense of the passenger

The proposed legislation will come into effect on 13th August 2020. The announcement posted on the corporate website of Qatar Airline stated: “For the safety of all passengers, Qatar Airways needs passengers traveling from different airports in Bangladesh, Brazil, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka effective 13 August, to present a negative COVID-19 test certificate at check-in.

To ensure the safety of all travelers, passengers must carry a negative COVID-19 test certificate conducted 72 hours prior to departure from the authorized laboratories of Qatar Airways. Children less than 12 years are exempted from the test. In addition to this, passengers will need to submit a consent form at check-in along with the negative test certificate. To increase the safety of travelers during flying, PCR checking is compulsory for passengers from one of the countries below who travel on Qatar Airways. Passengers traveling from these countries will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test result released 72 hours before departure from laboratories approved by Qatar Airways.
