With the coronavirus cases taking a downturn, Etihad Airways has announced its plan to resume more flights to India from September to offer even more travel options to passengers.
The UAE based carrier Etihad Airways is planning to resume eight more flights to India subject to India opening its international borders. Guests arriving from Abu Dhabi are offered flights to eight Indian destinations, including Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, New Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram.
Etihad Opening Up The Connections To India
With the eventual resumption of services to more destinations through its global network, the airline has confirmed that it aims to fly more Indian destinations between now and September 30, 2020, subject to the easing of travel restrictions by the UAE regulatory authorities and the entry and health regulations set by the final destination. Guests will be able to travel via Abu Dhabi to India from Beirut, Cairo, New York, London, Chicago, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, Toronto and Washington.
Flying to India From Abu Dhabi
Flights to India from Abu Dhabi are ready to open up from September 15, 2020. The Etihad guest can fly to Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, New Delhi, Kozhikode, Chennai, and Thiruvananthapuram.
Please ensure that all mandatory information is added to the reservation, which is required by the Indian Embassy.
Etihad’s guests must fill out a passenger information form at the time of booking. This is very essential: without a completed form, passengers may not be able to board.
Mandatory Travel Requirement Amid Covid-19
Guest flying with Etihad has to have mandatory COVID-19 PCR test before they fly. Guests will only be permitted if they have a negative test result. Moreover, COVID-19 PCR tests must be conducted before 96 hours of their flight departure time carried out from any government accredited medical facility. Face shields will be provided by Etihad during the flight.
If they have a valid COVID-19 PCR certificate, guests will be excluded from institutional quarantine in India. Guests must ensure that their COVID-19 PCR test result is uploaded to newdelhiairport.in, along with a copy of their passport. This applies for flights to all Indian destinations.
Guest flying to India must need to download the Aarogya Setu app and fill out the Arrival Self Declaration form. Guests should also print copies of this form to present them during check-in at the airport, if required.
Etihad’s Global COVID-19 Insurance
To keep the guest protected amidst Covid-19, Etihad Airways introduced COVID-19 global wellness insurance cover as part of Etihad Wellness allowing it’s guest to travel with peace of mind.
Under this new health and hygiene program, guests who are diagnosed with COVID-19 during their journey will not have to worry about medical expenses or quarantine costs. According to this programme, Etihad will cover up to EUR150K of medical costs and up to EUR100 a day of quarantine costs in case of a positive diagnosis for Covid-19.
The COVID-19 global wellness insurance applicable on all the tickets regardless of the date of booking, traveling between now and December 31, 2020. Guests who have existing bookings don’t need to worry as they are automatically enrolled for this programme. The insurance will be valid for 31 days from the first day of travel.
