In the view of ongoing development situation, Etihad Airways has introduced Wellness programme covers all medical expenses or quarantine costs if the passengers diagnosed with Covid-19, during their journey with Etihad. The initiative ensures passengers that the airline will take care of the treatment and quarantine costs if they are screened positive for Covid-19 during their flight.
Under this new Wellness programme of Etihad, The airline, in collaboration with France-based insurance company AXA, is launching the global Covid-19 insurance cover and builds on the strict measures to combat the virus.

How to use Covid-19 Global Wellness Insurance
Covid-19 insurance policy under the Etihad Wellness scheme extends to all Etihad passengers traveling between September 7 through December 31, 2020, irrespective of the date of booking. Passengers can simply book a flight with Etihad, and they will be covered for 31 days from the first day of their trip. This flexible travel policy will be available through all booking channels.
Passengers with existing reservations will automatically be included in the scheme and the insurance will be available worldwide for 31 days from the first day of travel.
If a person diagnosed with Covid-19 is away from home, the Covid-19 global wellness policy from the airline would cover medical costs of up to €150,000 and quarantine costs of up to €100 a day for 14 days if a person is confirmed positive.
A senior vice president at Etihad Airways, Duncan Bureau, said: “The safety, health, and well-being of our guests and employees is our top priority, both during and beyond the flight. Not only will this additional cover instill trust to fly, but it will also reassure our guests that we are doing all we can to keep them safe and comfortable. As more countries start to open their borders, we make it as easy as possible for our guests to schedule their next trip, without any worries.
Flexible Travel Policies
Amid Covid-19, Etihad Airways allowing unlimited changes to give traveler freedom and flexibility to change their travel plans if they can’t travel on scheduled date/destination due to uncertain circumstances. Everything you will pay is the fare difference- no additional fees or hidden costs. To become a part of this flexible policy passenger just need to book by October 31st 2020. If you can’t fly for whatever reason, you’ll be eligible for Etihad Credit.

Etihad Airways has intended to operate flights to more than 60 destinations across Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and North America during September and October. They are continuing to work closely with the UAE government and global aviation authorities to further grow their network.
Travel Requirement
In order to combat passengers during travel, it is mandatory to have a COVID-19 PCR test before entering onboard. The COVID-19 test must be conducted at any government-licensed medical facility no more than 96 hours before your flight departure time. If you are flying from China and other selected destinations, timings may vary. Guests leaving Pakistan and India must make use of a medical facility authorized by Etihad. Children under the age of 12 and individuals with moderate and extreme disabilities are exempted from COVID-19 PCR.
