Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted on this issue, “Many citizens have been approaching us to resume international flights. But there were several factors which need to be addressed. We have been contacted by multiple people to resume international flights. Many international destinations restricted passengers traffic, except for their own citizens or diplomats. Most international flights operate throughout India from the metro stations where travelers arrive from neighbouring cities and states”
“MHA lockdown guidelines 5.0 have further opened inter and intrastate travel, facilitating calibrated reopening of the sector. As we move towards the critical mass of 50-60% domestic flight operations, we will also improve our ability to resume international operations,” the minister tweeted.
According to the recent update, under Vande Bharat Mission more than 50,000 Indian citizens have been brought back to the country. In the meanwhile, international commercial passenger flights will be suspended until June 30.
