Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) announced its return to service in July with sailing in Europe and The Caribbean. Its parent company, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, submitted a letter to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to return services in the U.S.
NCL will restart its operation with reduced capacity on July 25 with three ships – Jade, Joy and Gem. Norwegian Joy will sail one-week Caribbean itineraries departing from Montego Bay in Jamaica starting August 7 and it will also sail out from Punta Cana from august 15. Jade will sail 7 days itineraries visiting the Greek Isles departing from Athens starting July 25. Norwegian Gem will sail for a week from Punta Cana starting August 15.
All the Guest and Crew must be fully vaccinated on all Norwegian’s initial return sailings including all adults and minors. Minors not eligible for vaccines will not be permitted to sail.
The new Caribbean itineraries will offer passengers 10-11 hours of port time in each of the four ports of call with each featuring two days at sea. Joy’s sailing departing from Montego Bay will also include a visit to Harvest Caye, NCL’s private island.
Norwegian will follow Sail Safe protocols that NCL Holdings submitted to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Sail Safe protocols include universal testing, a staggered embarkation process, a face mask for all guests, contactless foodservice ship-wide, etc.
