Emirates to fly to Toronto five times a week

Effective August 18, 2018 Emirates will operate two additional flights to Toronto (YYZ) complementing its existing schedule and providing even more choice and convenience to travelers. This will bring our total weekly frequencies from 3 to 5 daily (except Tuesday and Thursdays). Both additional flights will be operated by the iconic Emirates A380 with private suites in First Class, lie flat seats in Business Class and spacious seats in Economy Class. The additional Toronto (YYZ) flights will depart Dubai on Saturdays and Sundays as EK241 at 03:30 and arrive in Toronto at 09:30. On Saturdays, EK242 will leave Toronto at 14:25 and arrive in Dubai at 11:40 the next day. On Sundays, EK424 will leave Toronto at 14:30 and arrive in Dubai at 11:25 the next day. Both flights are in accordance to 2018 summer schedules.  Winter schedules will come into effect on October 28, 2018.

The additional flights will give travelers from Toronto and from across Emirates’ network, even more choice and connectivity when booking their travel via the Dubai hub. It will help to further boost inbound tourism for Canada and meet growing demand from travelers from key destinations. The additional flights will also unlock seamless connectivity to Emirates’ partner airline, flydubai’s robust regional network.

New refurbished lounge at JFK airport

Customers flying out of New York’s JFK airport can now ease into their journey in the comfort of our newly refurbished lounge.  Located in Terminal 4, JFK Emirates Lounge features leather sofas, shower suites, free WiFi, gourmet buffet and an open bar.  First and Business class customers can board their flight directly from the lounge. Complimentary to Gold and Platinum Emirates Skywards members and Business and First class customers, Blue and Silver Emirates Skywards members can enjoy paid lounge access. For US$100, Blue and Silver Emirates Skywards members can unwind in our new lounge and enjoy the Emirates experience before their flight.

Celebrating 10 years flying our Airbus A380

Emirates celebrates 10 years of A380 operations on August 1, 2018. Since its first flight to New York from Dubai on August 1, 2008, the Emirates A380 has carried more than 105 million passengers, clocking in more than 1.5 billion kilometres on 115,000 flights, equivalent to 39,000 trips around the globe. Today, Emirates with 104 double-decker aircraft flies to 49 cities in 6 continents around the world. In additional to its 104-strong fleet, Emirates has a further 58 A380s on order.

The Emirates A380 has been at the centre of a number of aviation firsts over the last decade including an industry step-change for passengers to experience new standards of in-flight comfort. Emirates revolutionised the A380’s cabin space design with higher ceilings, mood-lighting as well as the signature, industry-first elements like its Onboard Lounge and the iconic Shower Spa.  The Emirates A380 have wowed passengers for the past 10-years and will continue to for many years to come.

Partnership with Trenitalia

Effective August 1, 2018 Emirates and Trenitalia, Italy’s national railway company’s new codeshare agreement will enable Emirates customers from across its worldwide network to discover new destinations across Italy.

With just one easy-to-book ticket, travelers will be able to fly on Emirates and reach some of Italy’s most picturesque cities and towns using high speed, modern and comfortable trains that leave from Emirates’ four Italian gateways – Bologna, Milan, Rome and Venice.

Customers can now start booking their codeshare trips via Emirates’ website and travel onwards to these destination and benefit from the convenience of holding a single ticket. First Class and Business Class passengers will automatically be booked in First Class on board Trenitalia’s trains.

Value Add Seats bookable in all major GDS’s

Advance Seat Reservation options were introduced in the GDS from February 2017 in order to offer your customers a more personalised choice based on their travel needs. Options included extra legroom seat, twin seats (available on select routes) and preferred seats (allows for faster disembark).  For your convenience all value add seats are now bookable in Amadeus, Galileo and Sabre.  Click here for the fact sheet.

Loyalty program of Emirates & flydubai

In an exciting expansion of our award-winning program, flydubai has officially announced that Emirates Skywards will become their loyalty program effective August 1, 2018. Skywards members will earn Skywards Miles and Tier Miles and be able to spend Miles on flydubai flights.

The alignment of the loyalty program for both airlines build on Emirates and flydubai’s close partnership which includes code-sharing and other initiatives including commercial, network planning, and airport operations.
