United Airlines has just unveiled their most extensive transatlantic journey yet with their Summer 2024 schedule, starting with their inaugural non-stop flight between Newark/Newark and Faro, Portugal as well as exciting additions in Reykjavik, Brussels Rome Malaga. United has also extended nine favorite seasonal routes across Portugal Italy France Spain so travelers have increased flexibility to explore Europe earlier than expected.

New Service to Faro, Portugal
Commencing on May 24, United will be the exclusive airline providing direct service from New York/Newark to Faro, Portugal. This new four-times-a-week flight on a Boeing 757-200 opens up convenient access to Portugal’s picturesque Algarve region, renowned for its scenic beaches and historic sites.
New Flights to Reykjavik, Rome, Brussels, and Malaga
Starting on May 24th, 2024, United will become the sole carrier to provide direct flights between New York/Newark and Faro, Portugal on a Boeing 757-200 four times each week, giving convenient access to Portugal’s beautiful Algarve region renowned for its beaches and historical landmarks.
Early Commencement of Seasonal Service
Recognizing the rising demand for spring shoulder season getaways, United is resuming several popular routes early.
Starting February 15, these routes include
- Washington Dulles – Lisbon, Portugal;
- Washington Dulles – Barcelona, Spain;
- Washington Dulles – Rome, Italy.
Other routes resuming in spring 2024 include
- New York/Newark – Nice, France (starting March 30);
- Chicago/O’Hare – Rome, Italy (starting March 30);
- Chicago O’Hare – Milan, Italy (starting March 30);
- New York/Newark – Naples, Italy (starting April 5); and
- New York/Newark – Malaga (starting May 2).
- San Francisco – Rome, Italy, will commence on May 2.
Continued Expansion in Asia-Pacific and Latin America
United is projected to experience significant expansion across Asia-Pacific with over 30% expansion, offering nonstop service to 15 destinations – such as new routes between San Francisco-Manila and San Francisco-Beijing next summer – plus 10% increases across Latin American routes extending into summer season; featuring Denver-San Juan service as well as new routes between Denver-Montego Bay service as well as New York/Newark Barbados service and New York/Newark Curacao service among them.
