International Flights to Australia Resumes in November

Qantas Airlines Australia Border Reopening

Australia is set to ease International Border Restrictions from November. Following the move by Australia’s Federal Government, Qantas Airlines will restart flights in mid-November. International travel will be allowed to start on a state-by-state basis from November. Each state and Territories in Australia will be open once 80% of its population is fully vaccinated as per the ‘National Plan to transition Australia’s National COVID Response’.

Qantas Airlines will recommence International flights from Sunday, November 14. 

Qantas will operate the below flights from Sydney:

  • Three Round-Trip Weekly Flight between Los Angeles and Sydney
  • Three Round-Trip Weekly Flight between London (LHR) and Sydney

Australian Citizens, permanent residents, and their immediate families, and some visa holders are eligible to book flights. 

The above flight dates may be updated once Australia’s Federal Government announce the exact date of re-opening its border. Customers have the flexibility to make fee-free date changes for travel until December 31, 2022 ( a fare difference may apply). Customers are eligible for a refund or flight credit in case the flight is canceled by Qantas. All the other routes will continue to operate as planned from December 18, 2021, which includes Singapore, Japan, the US, the UK, Canada and Fiji, before adding Hong Kong flights in February, and then trips to Bali, Jakarta, Manila, Bangkok, Phuket, Ho Chi Minh City and Johannesburg in April 2022. Qantas may resume flights from other states early which is subject to changes in travel restriction by states.

Passenger traveling with Qantas Airlines needs to be fully vaccinated with a TGA approved vaccines or recognized vaccines ( Except few Exemptions). Passengers are also required to produce the Negative COVID-19 PCR test report taken 72 hours prior to departure. Customers on these flights will be required to home quarantine for seven days on arrival in Australia.
