Want to fly internationally to/from Kazakhstan? Well, Air Astana is ready to resume international flight services to/from Kazakhstan. The national airline of Kazakhstan is gradually increasing it’s a network by resuming international flight services from its hub.
On August 18, 2020, Air Astana will resume direct flights from the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan, to Frankfurt with services initially operating four days a week, rising to a daily frequency by September. The latest Airbus A321LR aircraft will operate flights with flight times of 6h 20 m outbound to Frankfurt and 5h 45 m on the way back to Nur-Sultan.
Air Astana has resumed operations in Seoul and will slowly begin operations in Dubai, Frankfurt and Kyiv from August 17, 2020, onwards. The flights to Georgia (Tbilisi and Batumi) were canceled due to airspace closure for July and August. Flights to Turkey were canceled until August 31st.
Latest Update On Flight To Turkey
The Turkish authorities have informed Air Astana that, due to the extended quarantine declared by Kazakhstan on July 2nd, the entry of Kazakhstan citizens and residents into Turkey will be indefinitely suspended with immediate effect. As of August 7th, the Turkish authorities have cancelled all flights to/from Turkey. The Turkish authority has told Air Astana that this is a temporary move.
Flights to/from Antalya will be canceled from July 20 till August 31. From July 20 to August 31, flights between Istanbul and Almaty / Atyrau / Nur-Sultan are canceled except for flights between Istanbul and Almaty on 21 and August 28. Passengers who wish to return during this time can be re-routed to/from Istanbul for free, but they will have to fly from Antalya to Istanbul or vice versa on their own. Options for change of date and refund are available according to the policy.
Air Astana strongly recommends that all passengers on international flights leaving Kazakhstan to undertake a PCR COVID-19 test within 96 * hours of departure to help control the spread of coronavirus. Passengers obtaining a positive check result should not fly and can re-book their plane ticket without penalty.
The passengers arriving from abroad to Kazakhstan are required to be familiar with the guideline of governing sanitary and quarantine rule.

- Change Dates without Penalty- The passenger can change/alter the travel date without penalty to any future date. This offer will be valid before August 31, 2020, and not later than 72 hours before the departure date
- Re-route- The Passengers can re-route to alternative routes without penalty operated by Air Astana(collecting fare difference, if applicable)
- Refund– If you can not fly to/from or inside Kazakhstan after May 11, 2020, due to flight suspension, you can refund the full value of the ticket price without cancellation fees
