Turkish Airlines has announced plans to expand its presence in the United States with the introduction of a new route connecting Denver to Istanbul. The airline’s latest venture signifies its 14th destination in the US market.
Turkish Airlines will begin nonstop flights between Denver International Airport (DEN) and Istanbul Airport (IST), beginning June 11th. Denver will become Turkish’s 14th US destination.
Denver Airport will soon have a record-setting route from Denver to Istanbul spanning 6,130 miles – surpassing Tokyo Narita Airport as its current longest route. The flight should last nearly 12 hours from Denver airport.
Turkish Airlines will initially operate three weekly flights on this route, with plans to increase this frequency up to four round trips weekly beginning July.
Turkish Airlines will use an Airbus A350-900 aircraft for their Denver service, accommodating up to 316 passengers at once. However, for their inaugural flight a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will be utilized.

Turkish Airlines’ Denver service adds another international route option at Denver International Airport, increasing connectivity for travelers in 17 different countries via nonstop nonstop routes. Istanbul will become Denver International’s 31st nonstop international destination and connect directly with travelers through nonstop flight routes.
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston hailed the arrival of Turkish Airlines flights as a significant boost to the city’s connectivity, opening up opportunities for travel to various parts of the world, including India, Africa, and the Middle East.
With Turkish Airlines joining the ranks, Denver cements its position as a major hub, hosting four of United Airlines’ Star Alliance partners by this summer, in addition to existing services from Air Canada, Copa Airlines, and Lufthansa.
