As a part of its JAL Flysafe program, Japan Airlines (JAL) has implemented the JAL Covid-19 Cover since December 2020. The Flysafe program provides reassurance and support to passengers with essential travel needs during the pandemic.
In partnership with AWP Japan (member of Allianz Partners group), Japan Airlines provides the service that covers medical costs resulting from the medically necessary COVID-19 testing and any subsequent medical treatment for passengers who test positive during their travels. After a positive diagnosis, quarantine costs and repatriation assistance are also covered for those requiring it.
Beginning July 1st, 2021, quarantine cover is expanded to passengers suspected of being infected with COVID-19 and are required by local authorities to quarantine.
A global 24-hour support line in English and Japanese will also be available to assist customers.
The JAL Group is continuing to implement key measures against COVID-19 to provide a safe and secure travel experience at the airport and throughout their journey.
