Emirates is offering the following flexible rebooking conditions for passengers affected by winter weather in the Northeast United States.
The below options may be offered to passengers scheduled to depart from/to/through Boston (BOS), New York (JFK), Newark (EWR) and Washington (IAD) between Thursday January 4, 2018 and Friday January 5, 2018, and who hold tickets issued prior to January 3, 2018. Passengers who wish to alter their travel plans as winter weather approaches may do so as follows:
1) Rebooking & re-issue charges shall be waived as per below
2) Rebooking: Permitted onto an available flight to/from the same destination for travel within a 7 day period after the original flight date and in the same booking class (RBD) or one higher. This will be at no additional cost to the passenger. This applies to the outbound and inbound flight date.
Only one Free of Charge (FOC) change shall be permitted per ticket.
The reissued ticket should be endorsed “INVOL REROUTE – WINTER WEATHER”.
3) Change of EK Origin:
The value of the existing ticket may be used towards the purchase of a new ticket. Rebooking allowed on the same RBD onto customer’s preferred origin within the US. If the new fare is lower, the difference is NOT refundable.
EK will not provide onward transportation or booking to the preferred origin.
Only one Free of Charge (FOC) change shall be permitted per ticket.
The reissued ticket should be endorsed “INVOL REROUTE – WINTER WEATHER”.
4) Cancellations
- a) Fully unused tickets – Full refund for fully unused tickets can be offered.
- b) Partially used tickets – Refund is allowed for partially used tickets in the order listed below:
- Residual amount after deduction of applicable one way fare for utilized portion, or
- 25% of base fare only and 50% of YQ, in the absence of one-way fare or if applicable one-way fare is higher than the original fare collected.
The applicable residual refund amount can be converted into an EMD for future travel on EK valid for one year from date of issue.
These rebooking conditions are applicable to Emirates commercial passengers who purchased tickets prior to Wednesday January 3, 2018 which includes travel on a flight departing BOS, JFK, EWR and IAD between Thursday January 4, 2018 and Friday January 5, 2018.
