Qatar Airways Advisory (Update) – Tropical Storm Irma

Tropical Storm Irma continues to have an impact on Qatar Airways’ operations to and from Miami (MIA) and Atlanta (ATL).

Qatar Airways has cancelled its Atlanta (ATL) flights on 11 September, 2017. Qatar Airways has also cancelled its Miami (MIA) flights on 11 and 12 September, 2017, and flights could be delayed, diverted or cancelled on 13 and 14 September, 2017. We have issued the below policy to ensure our passengers have flexibility to rebook alternate dates/flights.

Please advise passengers travelling to and from MIA and ATL to check their flight status on www.qatarairways.com for the latest flight information. Passengers with connecting flights within the US or onward should be directed to contact or visit the other carrier website for flight information. The below rebooking options are available to Qatar Airways’ passengers to assist them in amending their travel plans.

Ticketing & Rebooking Conditions:

Scope & Eligibility Criteria

DOH ATL DOH (QR755/QR756):

Applicable only for valid e-tickets issued on or prior to 11 September, 2017, on QR/157 stock of plate (travel date 11 September, 2017) or OAL stock or plate (travel date 11 September, 2017) for customers holding confirmed reservations for for flights departing or arriving at ATL (QR755/QR756).
DOH MIA DOH (QR777/QR778):

Applicable only for valid e-tickets issued on or prior to 12 September, 2017, on QR/157 stock or plate (travel date 12 September, 2017) or OAL stock or plate (travel date 12 September, 2017) for customers holding confirmed reservations for flights departing or arriving MIA (QR777/QR778)

This policy also applies for customers holding two separate e-tickets issued on stock or plate of the same validating carrier; or two different validating carriers being member of oneworld.

Rebooking/Rerouting Options

Itineraries booked on QR operating flights only:

  1. Max 1 FOC rebooking change permitted on alternative QR-operating flight(s) for the entire unutilized trip and within the same transaction.
  2. Max 1 FOC routing change permitted to any alternative QR-operating origin/destination within the same country
  3. Code-share flights are not permitted.
  4. New dates of travel must be within 21 days of original ticketed date of travel.
  5. Rebooking/rerouting should be made in same QR booking class or lowest available QR booking class within the same cabin.
  6. Penalties due to rebooking / rerouting are waived.

 Itineraries booked on or with code-share and/or interline flights:

  1. Max 1 FOC routing change permitted to any alternative QR operating origin/destination within the same country.
  2. Code-share flights are not permitted.
  3. New rerouted dates of travel must be within 21 days of original ticketed date of travel.
  4. Re-routing should be made in same QR booking class or lowest available QR booking class within the same cabin.
  5. Penalties due to rerouting are waived.
  6. New routing must not involve OAL flight(s).
  7. Max 1 FOC rebooking change permitted on alternative QR and/or OAL operating flight(s) from/to the same origin/destination for the affected O&D and according to original ticketed Fare Basis Rules.
  8. New rebooked dates of travel must be within 21 days of original ticketed date of travel.
  9. Rebooking should be made in the lowest available QR booking class within the same cabin and/or applicable OAL booking class (within the same cabin) according to original ticketed Fare Basis Rules.
  10. Gateway or OAL feeder flight(s) change is permitted only according to original ticketed Fare Basis rules.
  11. Penalties due to rebooking are waived.
  12. Customer can choose to travel from/to the same origin/destination via different gateway and/or via another OAL connections which are not permitted in original ticketed Fare Basis. Rebooking should be made in the applicable selling class of new Fare Basis. Any difference of fare or taxes to be collected from passenger or, where applicable, refunded by QR. New Fare Basis rules have to be met. Penalties due to rebooking are waived.
  13. Customer can choose to travel from/to a different origin/destination. Rebooking should be made in the applicable selling class of new Fare Basis. Any difference of fare or taxes to be collected from passenger or, where applicable, refunded by QR. New Fare Basis rules have to be met. Penalties due to rebooking are waived.

General Condition:

  1. Rebooking onto a code-share marketing flight number is not permitted. Use prime operating flight number at all times.
  2. In case of airport or origin/destination change, there is no compensation or reimbursement of any cost for surface transportation.

Refund & Penalty Waivers

  1. Waiver permitted for booking change, no-show fee and refund fee.
  2. Any applicable service fee in case of rebooking to be waived.
  3. Receive a full refund of unutilized value as per applicable Fare Basis rules and procedures to the original form of payment or by reissuing unutilized coupon values for an EMD “Good for further transportation.
  4. Refund difference of fare in case of cabin class downgrade.
  5. Refund any fare difference if the new fare post re-issue is lower than the original ticket value.

Other Important Notes & Considerations.

  1. Rebooking into higher Cabin than ticketed is not permitted.
  2. Eticket to be annotated in ENDO BOX “INVOL DUE COMM REF 1005” MIA Hurricane IRMA.
  3. Service fee previously collected is non-refundable at all times.
